Hi there! My name is Michael Craig and this is my personal website.

I'm a new grad working in tech as a SWE, and I'm always trying to build interesting, beautiful things. From what I've seen in my day job, the technical side of software has gotten so much faster that the real work now is thinking. With that in mind, I constantly think of how to design things people don't just want to use, but fall in love with.

To showcase that, I wanted to create a website that I loved, so I built this environment around the places and memories I had while studying abroad in Kyoto, Japan. The site attempts to pay homage to that time, because it was one of the most transformative moments of my life.

I built this site using TypeScript and Next.js. All of the visuals on this website are made as SVG images. Eventually, I'll be upgrading it to Three.js to make a 3D environment. If you want to learn more about my work, go to the "Projects" section (Currently just this website for now).
